How To Make Vegan Friends

This is my new blog. Instead of filling notebooks with desperate and over-ambitious to-do lists that I'll never look at again, I'm doing this. Because this summer is going to be different. This summer, I'm going to do things instead of whining about them. I'm not going to dote on and pine over people, but I will write about them. And then forget them. My main goals for this four month period are, in sum:
- To make delicious vegan food in my home (i.e.: learn to cook), and stick to vegetarianism whilst eating out (sorry, but ... cheesecake)
- To make music (i.e.: put some serious time into my guitar-playing, perform outside, jam with other artists, see as much live music as is safely affordable)
- To consume and be changed by great music and film
- To learn to swing dance. Yes, you heard correctly. I want to wear '50s skirts and dance my cares away.
- To find my people. My vegetarian, travelling, lake-loving, abandoned-building obsessing, vintage-wearing, flute/piano/guitar-playing, documentary-junkie, graphics-hoarding, inappropriate, live-music loving, intellectual, energetic, eccentric, spontaneous brethren. I know you're out there, and this summer I'm going to find you.
- To not attempt to get into a relationship (i.e. Single. Life. It's time I embrace it, and figure out who the fuck I actually am before assimilating it into someone's preexisting life)
- To travel as much as is realistic (i.e.: experience foreign cultures, food, language ... and enjoy feeling like an idiot sometimes)
- To forget about losing weight and start feeling like a goddess. (i.e.: no more rumination, no more guilt surrounding food: just moderation, an active life-style and plenty of self-love)
- To learn to fuck myself properly. (i.e.: I haven't gotten the hang of it yet)
- To do at least one thing I would never do every day.
- TO SHAMELESSLY AND FEARLESSLY CHRONICLE THIS NEW WAY OF LIFE VIA THIS BLOG. (i.e.: be a voice of ... a generation)

in short, this will be me this summer, ya? ya. good movie btw. Freddie Prinze Jr. ftw.
